Production tests

Protacon implements state-of-the-art production testing systems for electronic, mechanical engineering and automotive industries, for example.

Our testing system deliveries are often total deliveries including electrification and software design, component deliveries as well as system testing and start-up. A test application typically includes testing with an automatic control sequence, storing results in a database, data analysis and reporting. Test results and reports are available over the entire service life of the equipment. In addition, the analyses provided by the testing system are often utilized by our Customer’s product development.

Valtra, Suolahti Tractor Factory

Testing of implement hydraulics:
The tractor’s implement hydraulics is tested in a specific test bench before installation. The system performs testing automatically according to predetermined test sequences.

Final testing system for tractors:
The system is composed of several test positions which allow performing the tractor’s entire test run simultaneously. After supporting the tractor on a test pedestal it is subjected to a series of tests which the operator controls from the cab through a wireless test monitor.

Sampo Hydraulics - Testing of hydraulic motors and rotators

The system is used for testing hydraulic motors and rotators used for instance in agricultural and forestry machines as well as in heavy transport vehicles. The system controls the motor and its load with automatic test sequences. The application is based on LabVIEW™ software.
Metso Automation - Valve actuator testing
The system tests the operation of valve actuators used in the process industry. The operation of the actuators is tested automatically by the system through its various test sequences. The application is based on LabVIEW™ software.

Metso Paper, Valkeakoski - Refiner tests

The system is designed for testing the operation of refiners used in the paper industry. During the test, the refiner is run empty for several hours and sometimes even for days. The system controls are based on Siemens S7-300 PLC and the data collection runs on Labview software.

Megalock - AQML/Quality scanner

Based on computer vision, the system inspects the dimensions of a product checking also that the components are in place and correctly installed. For this system Protacon has delivered an application used for teaching the items to be inspected for the various products. The application is based on LabVIEW™ software.

UPM Raflatac - RFID test

The system performs a reading test sequence for an RFID tag and marks faulty tags automatically in the line. The test results are stored in a database which provides customer roll specific reports. The data is transferred further to a PIMS system (Process Information Management System). The application is based on LabVIEW™ software.

Metso Composites - Composite roll balancing

The system controls and measures balancing of composite rolls used in the paper industry. It masters both roll rotation and measuring of dimensions and positions of weights required for balancing.
