Protacon expands to water business

Protacon Engineering Ltd has acquired an important holding of a Finnish water technology company Liqum Ltd and in close partnership the companies start to provide a new - WEMS platform (Water Efficiency Management System).

By combining Liqum’s real-time water quality monitoring technology, based on electro-chemistry and nanotechnology, and Protacon’s strong experience in automation and information technology these companies can offer comprehensive and accurate water management total deliveries to process industries and municipalities worldwide.

Due to the resent water contamination cases the importance of water quality and the water risk management have become a major concern. This has created a strong demand for new innovative and more accurate solutions both in Finland and on the international market. Liqum offers this worldwide patented technology to improve real-time water management and water efficiency to water suppliers, industries and public authorities.

Liqum Ltd is part of Liqum Group founded in 1999. Liqum is the only Finnish member in United Nations’ The CEO Water Mandate, a group of experts, that seeks to find solutions to global water crisis. The group consists of CEO’s of 32 world leading companies’ such as Coca-Cola, Levi Strauss, Nestlé, Siemens and Suez. Liqum is also negotiating about the use of this technology in United Nation’s water projects worldwide.
