Protacon expands to Kainuu region

Protacon Group has signed a letter of intent with UPM concerning employing the UPM’s Kajaani mill staff. Protacon concretized the intent right away by acquiring engineering firm HK Suunnittelu Oy from Kajaani. Protacon plans first to recruit from 10 to 15 electrification, automation and information technology specialist to its new area office.
The Kainuu region market, talented workforce as well as Protacon’s efficient remote working and operation management tools made founding of the new area office possible.
“Protacon aims to promote Kainuu’s industry and business life with company’s whole service and product range. The goal is to quickly grow into a market leader in electrical and automation planning as well as information technology service provider.” clarifies the future plans, Timo Akselin, the CEO of Protacon. Protacon also wants to work in close cooperation with Kajaani University of Applied Sciences and the local research and development organizations.
HK Suunnittelu Oy’s CEO and Protacon Kainuu’s area manager, Mr. Martti Jaatinen, is pleased with the cooperation result for all the parties. In addition to the staff that will be recruited from UPM all the three HK Suunnittelu’s employees will continue with Protacon.
HK Suunnittelu Oy is in 1998 founded company providing maintenance, consulting and design services for the industrial automation sector. Company’s turnover is 250 t Euros.
